Week 1: New Beginnings

A new year, a fresh canvas, and endless possibilities. Whether you jump into the hype of resolutions, or think of a new year as just another month, there’s something invigorating about the start of a new chapter, a blank page waiting to be filled.

I always find the first few days of a new year are a big disappointment, where I may start with the best of intentions… only to find it all goes wrong. But that shouldn’t deter us from wanting to try and start, to think and to feel fresh every new day that we are blessed to wake up to.

And it is that feeling that has inspired this week’s creative prompt - New Beginnings - an invitation to explore the emotions, hopes, and dreams that come with starting anew.
Maybe it’s once a year. Once a month. Or maybe you are treating every day as a new beginning.

New beginnings come in many forms. They could be as monumental as moving to a new city or as simple as trying a new hobby. Creativity itself is a fresh start each time we pick up a pen, brush, or instrument.

This week, take a moment to reflect: What does a new beginning mean to you? Is it a journey into the unknown or a return to something familiar?

Remember, there are no rules, and no right or wrong ways to be creative. You can express it in any form - paint the feeling of possibility, write about a personal transformation, or capture a symbolic photograph.

Whatever you decide to create, I hope it helps you find a moment of joy, or express a feeling that you’ve maybe been holding onto. Use this time of creativity to focus on YOU.

Share your work using #52creatives and let’s celebrate the power of fresh starts together!
